FAQ
Answers to common questions about the TeamTalk Community service, server management, downloads and support.
TeamTalk is a voice, video and text chat system used to host community servers. This site lets you create and manage TeamTalk servers, configure channels and users, view server statistics and download server logs and configuration files.
Use the Create Server page to provision a new server. After creation you will see a server details page with connection info and management actions (start, stop, restart). Manage all your servers from Manage My TeamTalk Servers.
Yes. The Create a TeamTalk Server form provides an option to upload a custom XML configuration file. When supplied, the uploaded XML will be used to initialise the server configuration; please ensure the file conforms to TeamTalk's expected XML schema and contains valid channel and user entries.
No. Servers you create are private by default and will not appear on the public homepage. To publish a server, use the Submit a server form; submitted listings are reviewed before they are made public.
By default we provide a ready-to-use host address,
tt.saktohost.com, which you may use in your TeamTalk client to connect to servers provisioned through our platform. If you require a custom hostname or DNS configuration, please contact our support team for guidance on DNS setup and any additional requirements.
The site follows accessibility best practices: semantic landmarks, ARIA attributes for dynamic content, keyboard support, clear and visible focus indicators, and compatibility with screen readers and mobile assistive technologies. On mobile, TalkBack and VoiceOver users can use platform navigation gestures (for example the rotor or heading-skip gestures) to jump between headings, landmarks, and interactive controls. We expose headings and landmarks so these gestures work reliably. If you find an accessibility issue or have suggestions, please report it via the contact form (opens in new tab).
Confirm you used the correct TCP/UDP ports shown on the server page, that the server is running, and that no firewall is blocking the ports. Try the guest connection link to verify network connectivity. Double check the credentials for any typo if the server details were added manually. If problems persist, open a support ticket with connection details and error messages.
The server admin panel provides actions to add, edit and delete channels, move users and issue kicks or bans. Use the Admin panel on the server page and the dedicated channel controls. For automation or large changes, contact support for guidance.
Creating a TeamTalk server provisions a fully managed server instance that you control with administrative access. Servers provisioned through our platform are private by default. That means only you and users you explicitly grant access to can manage or connect to them.
Submitting a TeamTalk server publishes its connection details to our public directory so visitors can discover and join it. A submitted listing includes the server name, description, connection information, category, language, and an optional logo to help it stand out. Visitors can connect directly using the provided TT_URL or the listing's connect button.
If you choose to publish your server publicly, we can optionally promote the listing on our social channels to help attract more users. Submitted listings may be reviewed before they appear in the public directory.
To submit a server, click Submit a server (alt+S) from the site navigation menu. Follow the form to provide a name, description and connection details. You may submit a server even if it is not hosted on our server; we allow submissions of externally hosted servers so communities can share public server details here.
Steps:
- Open the site navigation and select Submit a server alt+s.
- Fill in the server name, description and connection details like ports, username, password.
- Submit the form. Listings are reviewed and published according to our moderation policy.

Yes. From the server admin panel you can download configuration (XML) and logs. Filenames use your server display name for clarity.

While a TeamTalk server record exists on our platform; whether the server is running or stopped; the data associated with that server (including configuration and logs) is retained to support administration and troubleshooting. The moment you delete a server, all data tied to that server is removed immediately and permanently. We do not retain backups of individual server data, so please export or otherwise back up any important configuration files or logs before deleting a server.
For additional information about data handling and your rights, see our Privacy Policy (opens in new tab) and Terms & Conditions (opens in new tab).
Our mission is to make TeamTalk accessible to as many people as possible. We subsidise free access through a combination of community support, sponsorships, and revenue from optional paid services and subscriptions. These funding sources allow us to cover operational costs and continue developing the platform while keeping a useful set of features available at no cost.
